Table planning for your wedding in Mallorca

When it comes to planning your tables for your wedding breakfast there’s quite a lot to consider. And when you are marrying in Mallorca, you may have to think about a few more things! Here’s our suggestions for To Dos and To Don’ts for table planning in Mallorca, or indeed, any hot Mediterranean island wedding destination!

Do’s:

  1. Maximise your view: Place the tables to take advantage of any scenic beach, mountain or garden views. Squeeze the most out of the venue’s beauty!
  2. Shady spots are key: Don’t put your guests in the sun. Put the tables under shaded areas or provide umbrellas to protect them from the sun, and space them out to allow for the air to flow.
  3. Keep it simple: Use low floral arrangements to assist conversation, don’t put barriers up on the table! You could also incorporate elements like ice sculptures or chilled flower arrangements, talk to your florist about what they suggest. or ask us for recommendations.
  4. Accessibility: Give easy access to facilities like restrooms and hydration stations for any elderly guests or those with mobility issues. Seat them closer to the bathrooms.

Don’ts:

  1. Overcrowd: Avoid placing tables too close together. Ensure there is enough space for guests to move around comfortably, especially in the heat.
  2. Block pathways: Don’t block pathways or access points. Keep clear routes to exits, restrooms, and service areas for guests and staff.
  3. Neglect the layout: Don’t neglect the layout planning. Make sure the dance floor, bar, and dining areas are logically placed for easy flow and comfort.
  4. Ignore the sun position: Avoid placing tables where guests will be directly in the sun, especially during midday. Consider the sun’s position throughout the day, and take very good care with your older guests that they are not overly exposed to the sun in the summer.
  5. Forget lighting: Don’t forget to plan for evening lighting if the event goes into the night. Use soft lighting like fairy lights or lanterns to create a romantic atmosphere.
